a chuckle to start off the week

Exerpt from an email forwarded by my brother, aptly nicknamed 'Snicker' to my lil' sis, who passed it on to me.

For those who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies.

1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

5. The Germans drink lots of beer and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

CONCLUSION

Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

I laughed aloud at this 'logical' conclusion.

Hi Paula, I happened by your blog - it is fab - and wanted to do as you suggested and reach out to talk to someone I have been thinking about...and that person is you! I will write you an email off blog in the next couple of days. Haven't been quilling except for my daughter's wedding in August. God bless and thanks. Louise Fox

Ruth, thank you so much - hope you are enjoying a beautiful spring. We had a few days of heat and sunshine, but we are back to cold and rainy again today.

Linda - isn't that funny? So - which foreign language are you drawn to? I had hopes of teaching my children Spanish when we first began homeschooling, but I soon abandoned the idea. Also tried Latin on my own...was a dismal failure at that too.

Louise! How lovely to hear from you, dear friend! I haven't done much either since my daughter's wedding last July. How amusing that our creative slumps parallel. Have you found a new passion besides paper filigree? Also, I need your current mailing address. As I was cleaning my studio on Saturday, I ran across a book you loaned me so very long ago. Hope the overdue fines aren't too steep! :) So sorry I overlooked that when I returned your paper filigree cup and saucer loaned for the library display. Will look forward to catching up!

Thanks ladies for the visits and comments. It is so nice to have some interaction in my comments section!
